§ 5.6. Metallic and Non-Metallic Mineral Resources

There is one active quarry site in the City of Greenwood. The Clark County Planning and Zoning Department and the Clark County Land Conservation Department currently administer the Clerk County Non-metallic Mining Reclamation Ordinance which took effect on June 1, 2001. Ordinance standards address reclamation, surface water and wetland protection, groundwater protection, topsoil management, grading and slopes, maintenance, and a variety of other issues. Current and future mining or non-metallic mineral extraction operations must consult this ordinance for applicability and should consult with the administering Clark County Planning and Zoning Department for further assistance.
