  • An upgrade to the sanitary sewer system was completed in 1997. The wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) has been designed for a flow of 936,000 gallons per day (GPD). With the upgrade, the city's WWTP will have adequate capacity throughout the planning period. Approximately 82% of current loading at the WWTP is from the Land O'Lakes facility in the city.

    The City of Greenwood is in discussions with the City of Loyal to treat their wastewater in the future. The City of Greenwood has available capacity to treat wastewater from the City of Loyal. The City of Loyal will be discussing options further with the WDNR. At the writing of this report, it was anticipated that this consolidation is highly likely to be completed.
